Dating

Dating, it can be complicated. I have only dated once so I will tell on my own beliefs of how dating for a transgender individual should be. I believe that you should always tell the person who is interested in you/ you are interested in the way you feel. Even if you haven't transitioned at all. I do not think you should be offended if they reject or take back their feelings after, it's their right to do so and if that is their decision it can't be helped. My sexual preference is men and when I did get asked out, I spoke to them of my feelings. He was a homosexual male and I did not feel comfortable being in a relationship based on lies. It was against my morals, and so when he persisted and still wanted to go out with me then I said ¨yes.¨ Dating is not a one way field and just because some one does not want to be with you because of something of the sorts does not make them a bad or bigoted person and if you think so I just simply believe you are wrong. If I were biologically female I would not want to go out with a gay male for obvious reasons. Which ever way it goes every one has preferences and those do not change sometimes.

OHHH, dating. One of the must confusing parts of our community. It is full of questions and confusion. Well, I hope I can help. If you find someone who you like, or someone likes you, decide on whether you tell them or not. This is your business, so whatever you think to say is your own decision. Me, personally, would tell them so they would not be confused and give them time to process it. A recent experience I have had was my ex, J. J always bragged about being straight as a board, so when I came out to him he broke up with me, not before I explained it to him though. Sometimes you win some, sometimes you lose some. But that is okay. If someone loves you it does not matter what gender you are. And, if they support you, that is amazing! They will be important in your quest. But, please remember this; always take care of yourself. Do not let them hold you back because you are afraid you might lose them because if it is true love, they will stay by your side.
